Kelly's story
Growing up in Texas as the youngest of 6 kids, Kelly began creating as early as she could. Elaborate doll houses made of cardboard, chalk-drawn cities on driveways, and re-arranging her room on a whim - these are just some of the ways she recalls the begining of her artistic journey. Kelly finds inspiration from the world around her and is always looking for ways to problem-solve, upgrade or diversify it. She began making and selling her artwork shortly after leaving college, having completed 2 years towards a communications major. Kelly struggled with the insecurity that she wasn't generally good at anything; she never knew what she wanted to do. It wasn't until she began painting that she felt like she found her place in the world. She had no Idea that people would respond to her work the way they did. Artist's are often intuitive, open-minded and empathetic. Kelly is no different. She creates with a sense of purpose and allows her hardships, hopes and hunger to fuel her work. Specializing in mixed media canvas art, she returned to school in 2023 to pursue a degree in Interior Design from Texas State University. She plans to combine her art background and her newfound knowledge of design to transform spaces, giving other artist's exposure by using their art where best fit and pursuing a life-long career in the creative field. Kelly showcases select pieces at galleries in Austin, Texas such as Art For The People Gallery, MUSE Gallery and Art Direct Gallery (Cedar Park).
